Country music juggernauts Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw are joining forces for a massive summer tour in 2012. The outing, dubbed the “Brothers Of The Sun” tour, will be rocking stadiums coast-to-coast on most weekends next summer starting at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Fla., on June 2.
“Tim and I have been great friends since we first toured together, and I can’t wait to get back on the road with him,” Chesney said in a statement. “He’s one of my closest friends in music and in life, and I know this tour is going to be something special.”
“Our friendship was forged on the road, so it’s going to be a blast heading out with Kenny again,” McGraw said. “We’ll be having as much fun on stage as the fans will be having in the audience.”
Audiences will be lining up to have fun in the following cities slated on this tour: Atlanta (June 3); Dallas (June 9); Philadelphia (June 16); Pittsburgh (June 30); Chicago (July 1); Denver (July 21); and Detroit (Aug. 18), just to name a few. Grace Potter And The Nocturnals and Jake Owen are the lucky, lucky bastards who get to warm up the crowds as the opening acts for this tour. All in all, the total package is a sweet deal for fans, and is sure to be a monster summer party everywhere they go. Don’t miss it!

Kenny Chesney helped turn tragedy into triumph at his May 25 concert in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
For the tornado-ravaged town, Chesney decided to donate all the concert’s proceeds to local charities and services that will benefit those affected by the storms.
The town was struck on April 27 by a tornado that killed more than 300 people over seven states. In addition to entire communities being wiped out, the town of Tuscaloosa lost 41 of their own.

New England fans must have made quite an impression on Kenny Chesney, because the country star has just added a second tour date at the Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Mass., which will also be the last concert in his tour.
Chesney’s “Goin’ Coastal” tour was scheduled to end on Aug. 27 at the Gillette Stadium, but he was inspired to tack on one more concert there on Aug. 28.
“The last show of every year has always been special,” said Chesney. “A unique shared moment and connection with the fans celebrating a summer full of music. I can’t think of a better place than playing two nights at Gillette Stadium to close this year’s tour! I really missed playing Foxboro last summer and I can’t wait to reconnect with everyone in New England!”

This year’s Farm Aid concert, the annual event founded by Neil Young, Willie Nelson and John Mellencamp, is celebrating its 25th anniversary at Milwaukee’s Miller Park on Oct. 2.
The concert has always been known by its diverse performers and this year is no different. Kenny Chesney will be representing country, Jazon Mraz has indie pop covered and, of course, Neil Young will be playing good ole rock n roll.
There’s also tons of other great performers like Dave Matthews, Norah Jones, Jeff Tweedy, Band of Horses, The BoDeans, Amos Lee, Robert Francis, and Lukas Nelson and The Promise of the Real. As in years past, the lineup is expected to grow as the event approaches.
